Yao Shaojun started raising crocodiles in 2004 in Funing city, Jiangsu province.

He bought 36 siamese crocodiles from Thailand and now has 6,100 crocodiles. The biggest crocodile in Yao's farm weights 350 kilos, China Daily reported today.

Siamese crocodiles live in tropical weather, and they usually can't survive in areas north of the Yangtze River in China.

Yao uses a solar-powered green house in winter as well as artificial auxiliary heating to help the crocodiles overcome the difference in climate.
