Chinese PM to take part in WEF meet in Switzerland

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will attend the 45th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) during his official visit to Switzerland next week.

During the meeting, Li will deliver a key-note speech and meet representatives of the International Business Council, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a media briefing here today.

Li is visiting at the invitation of WEF founder and chairman Klaus Schwab and the Federal Council of Switzerland, Hong said. Li will also meet individually with Schwab.

During his three-day visit to Switzerland beginning January 20, Li will have talks with President of the Swiss Confederation Simonetta Sommaruga when the two leaders will open celebrations to mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
 

The WEF Annual Meeting, which will take place from January 21-24 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, is to convene global leaders from across business, government, international organizations, academia and civil society for strategic dialogues which map the key transformations reshaping the world under the theme 'The New Global Context'.
