Chinese tourist among 2 killed in road mishap near Udaipur

A Chinese tourist was among two persons killed in a road accident in Pratapnagar near here, in which five others including two Chinese nationals were also injured, police said today.

The accident took place yesterday when a jeep, in which the Chinese tourists along with others were travelling to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, collided head on with a heavy vehicle near the old checkpost in Pratapnagar near the famous tourist town of Udaipur.

The deceased were identified as 47-year-old Luoba of China and Chandan Singh of Delhi.

Of the injured, two were Chinese tourists accompanying Louba -- Chen Pheng Song (40) and Leep Ping (36), and three Indians -- Bholeram Kashyap, Kalu Khan and Ishtiyak.
 

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, police said.

The body of Luoba has been kept in a mortuary and the Chinese Embassy has been informed of the incident by the Udaipur administration, they added.
