"The Congress candidate in Tirupati had said he lost because the partymen did not put up a collective effort. Had we worked unitedly, we would have got success in Tirupati also. Everyone should realise this in the interest of future and act accordingly," Chiranjeevi told reporters here.
Chiranjeevi quit as an MLA following his election to the Rajya Sabha, which necessitated a bypoll in Tirupati.
"I feel those, who worked hard should be rewarded with some positions in the party or the nominated posts (in government). That will motivate them to work harder," he said.
Congress won only two, out of 18 assembly segments, where bye-elections were held recently.
