Tourism Minister K Chiranjeevi has welcomed the government's move to simplify the issuance process of embarking card for Indians and disembarking cards for foreigners.
"The proposed simplified forms for embarking and disembarking are point specific with the relevant questions and tourist friendly," he said.
The new system, a joint effort of home and tourism ministries, will come into effect from July 1.
Embarking card is a legal document used by immigration authorities to provide passenger identification and an effective record of a person's departure from the country.
Similarly, a disembarking card provides passenger identification and a record of a person's entry into the country.
Though these cards, foreign tourist arrival data can be easily generated.
