Actress Chloe Grace Moretz didn't watch the original "Carrie" to prepare for her role in the remake as she wanted to create her own version of the character.
The 16-year-old actress deliberately avoided the 1976 adaptation of the Stephen King novel, which was directed by Brian De Palma and starred Sissy Spacek as the titular character, reported Ace Showbiz.
"I deliberately haven't watched the original movie. I'm sure what Sissy Spacek and Brian De Palma did was phenomenal, but I didn't want to end up copying any performances. I wanted to make my Carrie come to life and not steal someone else's Carrie," she said.

"That's why I really connected. What's happening to Carrie is really what's happening to me. I'm a 15-year-old girl who is basically living what Carrie is going through in the film. Trying to figure out your relationship with mum and with dad and figuring out what your voice is. And that's Carrie," Moretz said.
