Former Rajasthan governor Margaret Alva said today that the decision regarding watching the film 'Padmaavat' should be left to individuals.
She also said that India was not a country that gets scared.
"I go with the supreme court's decision which has asked the states to maintain law and order. What if the film is not being screened here, it is released in the country and those who want to see the film would go to other states to see it and those who do not want to see would not go," Alva told reporters here in Jaipur Literature Festival.

She said the choice depended on the individuals.
"We are a democracy and people have the freedom to protest but you cannot impose on others...Protests come and go but we are not a country which gets scared," she said.
Alva is on three-day visit to the city.
