Chopper carrying Omar makes emergency landing, no one hurt

A chopper carrying Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today made an emergency landing in Kishtwar district shortly after take off due to a technical problem, but no one was injured.

"The chopper carrying Omar Abdullah landed shortly after taking off from Kishtwar for Srinagar today. It had developed some technical problem," a senior police officer told PTI.

However, no one suffered any injury, he said, adding the chief minister later left by road for Srinagar, which is nearly 200 km from Kishtwar.

Omar had flown to Kishtwar town this afternoon to address a public rally and lay the foundation stone of a tourist building.
 

He was accompanied by Minister of State for Home Sajjad Kitchloo and NC's provincial chief and MLA Devender Rana.
