Chouhan meets martyr Manoj Soni's family, extends support

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said martyrdom of Deputy Commandant Manoj Soni, who died in a crash of Dornier aircraft in June, will always be remembered.

The state government will make every possible effort to preserve his memory, Chouhan stated while meeting Soni's family here yesterday, an official of MP government's Public Relations Department said today.

Coast Guard deputy commandant Manoj Soni's Dornier plane, CG-791, had taken off for a routine maritime surveillance sortie in coastal Tamil Nadu on June 8 and remained untraceable till July 10.

It was found after 33 days off the Tamil Nadu coast.
 

The Chief Minister presented Rs 10 lakh on behalf of state government to Soni's family. He said the state government stands by them, the official said adding Soni's father Radheshyam Soni, mother Kaushalya and wife Amrita and other family members were present on the occasion.

The government will also consider to chalk out a scheme named after Soni to train youths willing to join army, the official added.
