Chouhan seeks investment from UK businessmen

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today invited the UK businessmen to invest in Madhya Pradesh as he fervently underlined the state's conducive business environment.

Addressing NRIbusiness community at theHinduja House here last night, Chouhan impressed upon the gathering to make Madhya Pradesh, one of the fastest growing economies in the country, a business hub.

"Madhya Pradesh is one of the few states, which has a power surplus and continuous betterment to infrastructure and a positive outlook to industry growth," Chouhan said.

"Being in the heart of the country, it boasts of a skilled labour force as it absorbs people from every corner of the country, which adds to the warmth and hospitality of the state. Not only India but it also invites people from all over the world to work, invest and do business in the state," he said.
 

Chouhan said the UN gave the world the idea of "universal togetherness", but in India the motto that the world is one and happiness of all is linked to unity was proclaimed long before.

"My work is to ensure the material wellbeing of my constituency and am committed to ensure everyone in the state has a house above his head and homelessness is eradicated. But material benefit is not enough, as a state we have achieved one of the highest growth rates in agriculture," he said.

Noting that Chouhan isone ofthe most forward looking Chief Ministers in India, GP Hinduja, co-Chairman of the Hinduja Group, in his brief addresssaid this is "what drew London's most influential business community to come under one roof and listen to him".

Chouhan was speaking in the run up to the Madhya Pradesh government's two-day'Global Investors Summit' to be held from October 22 at Indore. The summit will provide a global platform for interaction with Indian industry leaders, policy makers, investors and other stakeholders.
