Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has sought a raise in the state government's share in the central tax revenues from the existing 30 per cent to 50 per cent.
The Chief Minister made this demand during a meeting with the members of the 14th Finance Commission held in the state capital yesterday, an official statement said today.
"The Chief Minister said that every state has its specific needs and the centrally-sponsored schemes should not be imposed on the states," the statement said.
