A Pawan Hans helicopter which had crashlanded at Harshil during rescue operations after the mid June calamity in Uttarakhand was airlifted today by an IAF chopper in a delicately handled operation.

The crashlanded Pawan Hans chopper was 'under-slung' and airlifted to Dehradun via Dharasu in Uttarkashi district by a Mi-17 V5 helicopter of the IAF as part of the ongoing 'Op-Rahat', an official release said here.

The chopper which was engaged in rescue operations in rain-ravaged Uttarakhand had made an emergency landing at Harsil on June 28.

The aircraft had landed heavily at Harsil helipad and was damaged in the process but everyone on board the aircraft was safe.
