R&B star Chris Brown is heading to rehab following his altercation with a man this weekend that led to his arrest.
Brown, who is still on probation for beating up former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, opted for rehab to "gain insight" into his behaviour, reported People magazine.
"Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility. His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point," his representative said in a statement
Brown, 24, and his bodyguard were released without bail from a Washington, DC, jail on Monday after a felony assault charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.
They were arrested on Sunday morning following an altercation with another man outside the W Hotel.
Brown's sentence for the 2009 incident involving Rihanna also included community service and a yearlong domestic violence course.
The singer had other run-ins with law including a hit-and-run accident in August and another scuffle with Drake and his entourage last year in New York.
