Former "American Idol" contestant Chris Daughtry is joining the ABC reboot of the popular singing competition series as a judge.
A source confirmed to Us weekly.
"They wanted a panel of all ex contestants. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson were all on their wish list," another source said.
In 2006, Daughtry participated on the fifth season of the "American Idol" and made it to the top four.
ABC announced earlier this month that the singing competition will be returning to TV after airing its final episode on Fox in April last year.
