Actor Chris Hemsworth will join Robert Downey Jr and Tom Hiddleston in London in January to film new scenes for 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'.

Hemsworth (who plays Thor), Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) have been asked to keep their schedules blank for two weeks in January to shoot extras scenes at London's Pinewood Studios for the superhero sequel, reported Contactmusic.

The film's director Joss Whedon won't actually require all the star's to fly to England but had reportedly sent out an early request to ensure they would be available, if necessary.

These extra measures have been taken to give the movie a bit 'more kick-ass on an extravagant scale'.

Hemsworth, who has previously starred in the 2011 film 'Thor' and reprised his role in the 2012 flick 'Avengers Assemble', could potentially be in the UK a lot in 2015 if he cast in the third and fourth installments of the 'Avengers' franchise, which are scheduled to be filmed back-to-back later next year at Pinewood Studios.

'Avengers: Age of Ultron' is due out in cinemas from April 24, 2015.
