Irish actor Chris O'Dowd has landed a deal to turn his popular TV show Moone Boy into a series of children's books.
The 34-year-old 'Bridesmaids' star and the show's co-creator Nick Vincent Murphy have signed a six-figure deal with publisher Macmillan to write the tomes, with the first one due out next autumn next year, reported Daily Mirror.
Loosely-based on O'Dowd's childhood, the show features a young boy in rural Ireland and his relationships with his dysfunctional family and an imaginary friend.
Last month, O'Dowd and Murphy scored their first International Emmy by winning in the Comedy category, seeing off competition from programmes made in Brazil, France and South Africa.
