Christian man killed during scuffle between doctors and patient's attendants in Lahore

A Christian man was killed during a scuffle between doctors and a patient's attendants at Services Hospital in Lahore.

The incident took place late last night when Kiran Saleem, a Christian woman, went to see a gynecologist in the hospital.

Police registered a murder case against 15 persons including five doctors of the Services Hospital.

Kashif Shafique told police that he brought his pregnant wife Kiran to a lady doctor at gynaecology ward of the Services Hospital last night.

"The doctor who was talking with someone on her cell phone asked a nurse to see her. My wife insisted to be seen by the lady doctor that ensued a verbal altercation between them. The dispute was however settled after the intervention of the medical staff present there," he said.

 

Kiran was later admitted to the hospital because of her condition.

After sometime, he alleged when he along with Kiran's brothers - Sunil Saleem and Anil Saleem - went to the ward to give food to her the on duty security guards and some doctors started hurling abuses at them that led to another scuffle.

Sunil Saleem sustained critical injuries and lost his life before getting any medical aid. "My other brother-in-law and I also suffered injuries," he said.

A guard also suffered injuries is stated to be in a critical condition at the hospital.

Police official concerned Rahmatullah said the police have registered a case against Dr Salman, Dr Irfan, Dr Hasan and Dr Sahi and 11 others.

"We are raising their whereabouts to arrest them," he said.
