joined the world in celebrating Easter marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ after crucifixion on Good Friday.

The day also marks the end of days of fasting by believers with special devotional services.

Special thanksgiving prayers were also offered.

Believers in the state capital congregated at the historic World War-II cemetery for a special Sunrise Service under the aegis of Kohima Baptist Pastors' Fellowship on the theme 'The Empty Tomb'.

Extending greetings during the Sunrise Service, Nagaland Chief Minister T R Zeliang said Easter would renew all with the assurance of hope, healing, salvation and everlasting joy.
 

Governor P B Acharya in his message said "it is a time of thanksgiving and rejoicing, a time to remind us of the blessings that we have, our families, our friends and our lives, we should all remember the true meaning of Easter and the sacrifice that has been made out of love".
