Christians in Nagaland are observing Good Friday, the day of Crucifixion of Jesus Christ for the redemption of mankind, with believers irrespective of denominations attending special services in the churches across the state.

The Catholics at this capital town took out a silent Cross March on the main streets while believers of other denominations were observing the day by fasting to seek forgiveness from God in churches and prayer centres offering prayers and mourning.

It's a holiday for all government offices and educational institutes while most of the shops and business establishments too remained closed.

Christians are also gearing up for Easter Sunday to celebrate Resurrection of Christ with special programmes at the World War-II cemetery here.
