Churu hottest at 45.2 deg C in Rajasthan

The desert state of Rajasthan is under the grip of heat wave with mercury soaring to 45.2 degree Celsius in Churu today.

Western districts of Rajasthan were reeling under severe heat wave conditions as Bikaner, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Ganganager recorded the maximum temperature in the range of 44 and 44.2 degree C.

Normal life was also affected by dust raising winds in western regions of the state, a MeT report said.

Jaipur also experienced the hottest day in May month with a maximum temperature of 43.1 degree C.

Elsewhere the maximum temperature was not less than 40 degree C.
 

No chance of any change in the present weather in next 24 hours in the state, the MeT forecast said.
