Several places in Rajasthan today recorded their maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius with Churu being the hottest at 44.3 degrees Celsius.
Sriganganagar followed Churu and recorded its maximum at 43.4 degrees Celsius.
Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur and Pilani recorded their maximums at 42.4, 41.9, 40.4, 40, 39.8 and 39.7 degrees Celsius respectively, according to MeT department.
The weather will remain dry in the desert but light rains accompanied by thunderstorm is likely to occur at isolated places in the state during next 24 hours.
