Churu sizzles at 46 degrees in Rajasthan

Rajasthan reeled under the scorching sun today with several regions in the state crossing the 40 degree mark, even as Churu remained the hottest place by recording a high of 46 degrees Celsius.

Churu was followed by Srigangangar which registered the day temperature of 45 degrees Celsius.

Among other places, Kota recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius, while Bikaner registered a high of 43.8 degrees Celsius, MeT said.

Pilani, Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Barmer, Jodhpur and Ajmer recorded 43.5 degrees, 42.5 degrees, 42.4 degrees, 42 degrees, 41.6 degrees and 40.8 degrees respectively.

The night temperatures also increased by 2-4 degrees at most of the places in the state, it said.
 

Meanwhile, light rains occurred at isolated areas in Bikaner division.

The weather conditions would remain the same during next 24 hours, the MeT added.
