West Bengal CID has arrested one fake doctor attached to a renowned hospital in the city as part of their probe into the fake doctor racket in the state.
According to a senior officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) fake doctor Dr Naren Pandey alias Narendra Pandey who was attached with the city's Bellevue Clinic and Medland Diagnostic Institute, Entally Kolkata was arrested late last night.
The person was arrested from his chamber cum diagnostic centre at Entally, the officer said.
The accused has been working as an allergy and asthma specialist with several clinics in the city.
The CID was acting after an FIR was lodged against the arrested person at Bidhannagar South Police Station.
CID officers today spoke to a senior official of the Bellevue Clinic in connection with their probe into the fake doctor racket.
So far the CID has arrested four fake doctors from different parts of the state.
