The CID today arrested a woman
for extorting money from several people posing as CBI officer.
According to a senior CID officer, Ichcha Sinha alias Rituparna Das was arrested from Sonarpur in South 24-Parganas district today for posing as a CBI officer to extort money from several persons.
The police seized from the accused's possession photographs in police uniform and identity cards of Central IB officer, he said.
"She used to extort money from the public by posing as CBI officer. We have been looking for her for quite some time," he said adding that the CID was looking for her in a cheating case in the Noapara police station area.
