CID busts sex racket, rescues four minor girls

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal Police today busted a sex racket and rescued four minor girls from Madhyamgram area of North 24 Parganas district.

Five persons were arrested by the agency for their alleged involvement in running the sex racket, a senior officer of the CID said.

"Our Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) today conducted a raid at a flat at Bankim Pally South in Madhyamgram police station limits and rescued four minor girls," he said.

The five accused persons, including the flat owner, traffickers and customers were arrested and booked under specific sections of the Indian Penal Code, he added.
