CID detains two persons for trying to smuggle snakes

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal Police today detained two persons from Howrah railway station for allegedly trying to smuggle snakes.

CID's Special Operations Group (SOG) team recovered 32 snakes like Kalah, Chandrabora and others packed in three bags from the possession of the two accused persons at the Howrah railway station with the help of railway police force, a senior officer of the agency said.

"We are questioning the two accused and checking their background. They have been detained but if needed we will arrest them," he said.
