The Consortium of Indian Farmers Associations (CIFA) today extended support to three Congress candidates contesting from Patiala, Amritsar and Bathinda Lok Sabha seats in Punjab.
CIFA President Satnam Singh Behru told reporters here that the Consortium had decided to extend support to Amarinder Singh, who is contesting the polls from Amritsar, and Preneet Kaur(Patiala).
The CIFA would also extend support to Congress-PPP candidate Manpreet Singh Badal from Bathinda, he said.
Manpreet Badal, the People's Party of Punjab chief, will contest on the Congress symbol though he has not yet merged his party with the Congress.
Asked about non-implementation of Swaminathan Committee report, Behru evaded the question.
