CII mulling course on business journalism

The Confederation of Indian Industry today said it is mulling the launch of a course on business journalism in the eastern region.

"We are considering launching a course on Business Journalism," Umesh Chowdhary, Chairman, CII, Eastern Region said addressing the inaugural session of the 'Orientation Programme on Business Journalism', organised jointly by the CII and Press Club, Kolkata here.

The course would be launched through CII's Centre for Excellence in Kolkata.

Nita Karmakar, Regional Director, CII East and North East, said training programmes on topics related to business and industries could be an area of collaboration with the Press Club, Kolkata.
 

"Also we may partner Press Club, Kolkata to hold training programmes annually," she said.

Jawhar Sircar, former CEO of Prasar Bharati, during his address, called upon journalists to be more analytical than speculative in dealing with news related to business, economics, trade and commerce.

Over the next three days of the orientation programme, eminent professionals in respective areas of operation will address and interact with working journalists.
