State-owned CIL today said it produced 477.31 million tonnes of coal in April-February 2015-16 against the target of 491.27 million tonnes.
The company produced 51.01 MT of coal in February, against the target of 52.01 MT for the month, Coal India (CIL) said in a filing to BSE.
CIL, which accounts for over 80 per cent of the domestic production, is eyeing an output of one billion tonnes.
The government has set a target of 550 MT for the coal PSU for the current fiscal.
