State-owned Coal India (CIL) today said it is working out the modalities to raise coal sales bills on GCV (Kcal/kg) or gross calorific value basis and it will soon intimate implementation date.
"CIL is working out the modalities to raise coal sales bills on GCV (Kcal/kg) basis and the exact date of implementation would be intimated soon," the company said in a BSE filing.
"Till then, the present mode of raising of coal sales bills would continue. This has the approval of the competent authority of the company," it added.
In January this year, Coal India had informed that sales bills will be raised on GCV(kcal/Kg) basis with effect from April 1, 2018. At present prices are computed based on grade policy.
