A Circle Officer (CO) was today arrested on graft charge by the vigilance department from Bihar's Nalanda district, an official release said.
Acting on a complaint by one Nishant Ranjan, a Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) team headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Vijay Kumar Srivasatava laid a trap and arrested Hilsa's CO Rajvardhan Gupta from his office as soon as he took Rs 10,000 as bribe from Ranjan, the release said.
Gupta had demanded the amount as bribe from the complainant for mutation of his land, it said.
The tainted CO was being brought to the state capital for interrogation before his production before a designated vigilance court for judicial remand, the release added.
