Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore today

said a circular mandating one per cent reservation to the Gujjar community will be released soon.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with a delegation of the Gujjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, he also said the government has withdrawn 203 criminal cases lodged against the community members during the Gujjar Aandolan.

He said the members of the Samiti were satisfied with the meeting in which issues related to the Devnarayan Scheme, the Gurukul Aawas Yojna and the withdrawal of cases lodged during the Gujjar Aandolan were discussed.

Details on Rs 1,000 crore spent on the Devnarayan Scheme during BJP government's tenure was also made available to the representatives of the delegation, he said.

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Arun Chaturvedi, who is also a member of parliamentary sub-committee, said the circular on the reservation could not be issued earlier due to legal hurdles.

The disappointment among the members of the Gujjar Aarakshan Sangarsh Samiti will be addressed by tomorrow, he said.

The Gujjar delegation, however, said they will protest if the demands are not met.

Himmat Singh, a spokesperson for the Samiti, said they will protest Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed rally in Jaipur, if the agreement arrived at with the government in the past is not implemented.

He said the community is fighting for their cause for the past 13 years and "will wait till tomorrow. Failing which, we will protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting".

However, Rathore said, "We will complete the procedural delays and fulfil the points in the agreement.
