Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today met US networking giant Cisco's CEO Chuck Robbins, with discussions ranging from electronics manufacturing to digital health and education.
Government sources privy to the development said that during the meeting which lasted for over 30 minutes, Cisco held wide-ranging discussions on electronics manufacturing and expanding India footprint.
"The minister asked Cisco to participate in creation of digital villages and also pick up areas like digital health and e-education to create innovative models in some villages," the source said.
The Cisco CEO also lauded the government's digital India programme, the source added.
