A Leh-bound Danish passenger was today apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the IGI airport here for allegedly carrying an unauthorised satellite phone in his luggage, a senior official said.

J P M Bitsch, a native of Denmark, was apprehended by the CISF personnel after the phone was detected in his baggage, he said.

Bitsch was travelling to Leh in Jammu and Kashmir. He was handed over to the Delhi Police as carrying a satellite phone is banned under law, the official said.

The communication gadget is allowed only for defence and other authorised personnel, he added.

This is the third such incident this month as an Indian passenger and a British national were apprehended by the CISF at the airport while they were about to take a flight to Leh.
