A CISF Assistant Sub-Inspector today allegedly picked up a quarrel with CPI leader D Raja and his wife over their identity cards and tickets at the airport here, prompting them to apprise authorities of the matter.

The leader, who entered the airport with his wife to board a flight for Delhi, produced their identity cards and valid tickets but Assistant Sub Inspector Hanskumar reportedly raised some objections about the tickets, which were not palatable to them, police said.

When the airport authorities were informed about the incident, they looked into the matter and questioned the Assistant SI, who apologised to the couple, police said.

After Hanskumar apologised to them, the couple left to board the flight, police added.
