A CISF jawan saved a three-year old girl from possible assault after he raised an alarm seeing a man taking the girl to a desolate place at Bijwasan area of the national capital.

The incident occured in the dead of the night (3 AM) on April 24 when Head Constable C P Ram of the paramilitary force saw a 25-year-old man carrying the little girl inside an abandoned building.

Ram, who is posted with the Delhi Metro CISF security and lives in his official barracks at Bijwasan, immediately screamed out to the man after which he fled away leaving the girl.

Ram then called up the Delhi police control room which later traced the girl's mother and handed over the child to her.

"The girl could not even speak her name. Going by the modus operandi of the suspect man, there was a strong possibility that he would have assaulted the child had he been successful," a senior CISF officer said.

The girl's mother works as a labourer, the officer said.

Ram will be recommended for a commendable citation by the forces' headquarters here, the officer added.
