A CISF jawan today allegedly committed suicide by firing from his licensed personal weapon at his residence in Kamla Nehru Nagar here.
Officials said the deceased trooper has been identified as Yadram Singh and was posted in the 5th Reserve battalion of the Central Industrial Security Force based here.
"The incident took place early today at about 6:00 AM at Singh's government residence in Kamla Nehru Nagar area here. He used his personal licensed weapon to shoot himself. It looks to be a case of suicide. However, a court of inquiry has been ordered," they said.
They said Yadav, who is survived by his wife and two young children, had recently come back to the force after serving a deputation posting in the the elite commando force NSG some time back and was undergoing some medical treatment.
He had joined the force in 1998.
