CISF has been roped in by the Central government as a partner to create awareness among the masses for the ambitious 'Skill India' mission.

As part of the initiative, Union Minister of State for Skill Development Rajiv Pratap Rudy today flagged off 150 vans from the Jawahar Lal Nehru stadium here.

These vans will fan out in various parts of Delhi and nearby areas to educate and inform people about the new programme which was later launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.

The vans, with personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), will have educational pamphlets and other publicity material related to the programme.

"The CISF personnel and other volunteers will inform people about the 'Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikash Yojana', 'National Skill Development Mission' and 'Skill loan' initiative," a senior official said.

CISF Director General Surender Singh and Additional DG (Airport sector) R K Pachnanda were present during the flagging off event.

The force secures all major civil airports in the country and important installations in the aerospace and nuclear energy domain.
