The Hyderabad-based National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) of CISF, which trains paramilitary and police officials, has been awarded the national award for 'excellence in training' at an event here.

The award was presented to NISA, for having the best trainer and faculty development infrastructure, by Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh during the National Symposium on Excellence in Training, organised by the Department of Personnel and Training here on May 28.

A Central Industrial Security Force statement said "NISA was the only institution of uniformed services to get the award" this time.

The academy was created in Hyderabad in 1969 to cater to the training needs of the paramilitary and other forces tasked with security of vital assets.
