CISF S-I nabs pick-pocket in Delhi Metro

A CISF Sub-Inspector apprehended a pick-pocket who stole Rs 50,000 from a commuter in a Delhi Metro train.

The incident happned yesterday when SI Anil Kumar Gupta boarded the Metro from Saket station to go to his office in Shastri Park.

Inside the coach, he noticed a suspiciously behaving man and kept his eyes on him.

After sometime, Gupta saw the pick-pocket, identified as one Pawan residing in Paharganj area, taking a packet out of a commuter's pocket at Shastri Park Metro station.

The commuter, who lives in Uttam Nagar in Delhi, had no inkling that his money had been stolen.
 

"The SI followed Pawan and apprehended him at the token entry gate of the station. When he was frisked, a total of Rs 50,000 belonging to the communter Bhushan Kumar was recovered from him," a senior force official said.

He was later handed over to Delhi Police which arrested him for theft.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is entrusted with the security of the Delhi Metro network.
