Over 1000 persons, including workers and police personnel on surveillance duty, were today denied entry to the Chennnai airport premises by CISF as they did not have a valid pass,airport officials said.
The group comprised electricians and house-keeping staff, state police personnel and personal assistants to VIPs, who were stopped at the entrance by CISF personnel as most of them failed to have renewed their passes by December 26 last.
Their passes had apparently expired yesterday.
CISF officials said as per a circular from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security all applications for passes for 2015 should be made between November 20 and December 26 last and hence only those with valid passes were allowed inside and others were stopped as per the rules.
