Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today asked officials to start citizen- centric services in rural areas through unified service delivery centres by mid-2015.
Badal asked Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal to ensure the functioning of these centres in the given deadline.
The services of every department would be made available to citizens at their door steps in a hassle-free manner within a minimum time period from these centres, said an official spokesman.

Badal directed officers concerned to initiate this project with existing services in rural areas.
He also said that all formalities in this regard should be completed within a month, besides concluding construction of these 1,750 rural service centres by May next, the spokesman said.
