CITU demands regularisation of ASHA workers in J-K

Centre of Indian Trade Unions today demanded regularisation of ASHA workers as permanent employees of the state government.

"The Centre and state government should accept the just and genuine demands of ASHA volunteers like regularise them as permanent employees and implement minimum wages act in their favour and pay Rs 10,000 per month," state treasurer of CITU, Sham Kesar said during a conference of ASHA workers here.

Some other important demands of ASHA workers like woollen and cotton uniforms once in a year, timely payment of honorarium and separate room for them in every hospital should also be met, he said.
