Key policy issues concerning the working class in the country will be discussed by the all-India meet of the pro-CPI(M) trade union CITU to be held here from April 4 to 8.

More than 2,000 delegates from different states representing all major industrial sectors would attend the meet whose central theme is "intensify the class struggle for policy change," organisers said today.

National leaders of central trade unions like CITU, INTUC, UTUC, BMS and HMS would also address various sessions as strengthening inter-union solidarity would be an important topic to be deliberated by the meet, CITU state General Secretary Elamaram Kareem told reporters here.

CITU President A K Padmanabhan would inaugurate the meet on April 4.

Apart from leading Indian trade union leaders like Gurudas Das Gupta (AITUC) and Abani Roy (UTUC), fraternal delegates from World Federation of Trade Unions and International Labour Union (ILO) would attend the meet, focusing on the labour issues and workers' struggles the worldover in times of globalisation, Kareem said.
