Karad and Pandey were not present during the attack and they were "purposely instigated" into the case by being arrested, CITU president Narsayya Adam Adam today alleged while talking to mediapersons, after meeting Nashik Commissioner of Police Kulwant Kumar.
The workers of Everest plant in Dindori tehsil of Nashik district are on an indefinite strike, demanding increase in wages, since November.
A meeting between Deputy Labour Commissioner, Dr Karad, Pandey, and company officials -- general manager K K Rameshan, assistant manager Durga Prasad Tiwari and Senior Manager Pradeep Deshpande -- was held on August 24 to work out a solution.
