Seshadev Nanda, a civic
leader of Cuttack city, died here following prolonged illness, family sources said today.
Nanda (56) who was ailing for quite some time breathed his last at SCB Medical College and Hospital here last night while undergoing treatment.
He is survived by his widow Pranati Mishra and a 10-year-old son.
Nanda was elected continuously for four times to the city civic body representing his Kaligali ward twice as Councillor and twice as Corporator, when Cuttack municipality was elevated to Corporation status in 2003.
Before his mortal remains were consigned to flames at Satichoura crematorium here this afternoon, several eminent persons of the city visited his Kaligali residence to pay their last respects to the departed soul.
