City doctor receives FRCP scroll

A leading gastroenterologist from the city has been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), United Kingdom, the fourth doctor in India to receive the fellowship.

Dr V G Mohan Prasad, Chairman of VGM Hospital was awarded the FRCP at a convocation ceremony on November 13, where President of Royal College of Edinburgh, Prof. Dr Derek Bell, handed over the Scroll.

He was awaded the FRCP for his innovation of Endoscopic Haemoseal spray which can instantaneously stop bleeding anywhere in Gastrointestinal tract, an hospital release said today.

Mohan Prasad was the only Gastroenterologist from India to receive the honour this year and 69 doctors of different specialties from 42 countries were honoured with Fellowship, it said.
