Hotels across the city will put out their lights tomorrow during Earth Hour to raise awareness about climate change and encourage their patrons and the larger community to adopt practices to help combat the issue.
The Imperial has partnered with with WWF-India, to observe the Earth Hour week from March 20 to March 25, during which the hotel has been switching off the lights between 8:30pm and 9:30 pm.
The facade lights, swimming pool ambient lights and reflective pool lights of the business centre will be switched off. There will be minimal use of electricity in back of the house and dimming of lights in guest areas from 6pm to 8pm tommorrow.

The hotel will also host a 'Dine in Dark' event tommorrow, where guests will dine with candles or battery operated lights.
The Taj Mahal hotel will observe Earth Hour from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm tommorrow by dimming lights across its lobby, restaurants and Terrace Garden.
Candles will be placed on each table in the restaurants, which will host a specially curated themed buffet menu for the occasion.
"The associates will hold all inter-departmental meetings outdoors in order to reduce consumption of electricity indoors," says the hotel.
The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel here will display posters in the hotel lobby during Earth Hour, to highlight the event's significance, along with a candle-lighting ceremony between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm tommorrow.
"All the lights will be switched off in the public areas in the hotel. The guests have also been requested to switch off all non-essential lights.
"The entire third floor of the hotel will be decorated and dedicated to our beloved Mother Earth as a sign of our respect and gratitude for all her bounty.," says a spokesperson of The Leela.
A live acoustic singing session at the Frangi pani area, which will be lit with candles and lanterns, will also be organised.
"Our effort would not only be to play our part during EarthHhour, but also to turn these sixty minutes into a memorable moment that our guests would remember forever.
"We also aim to etch a positive message in the minds of our employees and guests honouring the generosity of Mother Earth," says the hotel.
