City school students to attempt to set 29 world records

Students of a city-based school plan to create world records in 29 categories, starting from August 3, to commemorate the 34th year of its founding.

Of the 29 events, 12 would be attempted by a group of students from LKG to 12th standard while 17 are solos,Chinmaya Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School Correspondent P Ramakrishnan told reporters here today.

As many as 1,089 students will attempt to set a record for most number of people wearing Chinmayananda mask at a single venue on August 3, the 'Mahasamadhi day' of Swami Chinamayananda, founder of the school, which will be a record, he said.
 

Other fetes include most number of people chanting psalms simultaneously for two hours, 516 metres long finger painting by a team, 417 students to get dressed as Lord Krishna, and 640 students painting National flag simultaneously at a single venue, during the five-day event, titled "World Record Festival 2016," Ramakrishnan said.

Individual attempts include longest cycling marathon by a 16-year-old boy for 28 hours, principal Mayadevi said.

The school proposed to enter four global world record books such as Elite world record (UK) Private ltd, Asian Records Acacdemy, Singapore, India Record Academy, Mumbai and Tamilan Book of Records, Chennai, Ramakrishnan said.
