City fresh face hunt topper Akbar Hassan sailed to the final round of premier international 'Max Fashion Icon 2015' pipping 11 other contestants.

Akbar, a contestant in the 'Fface calendar launch' held on the lines of the fresh face hunt and calendar launch by a liquor major, was an autoomatic wildcard entry by virtue of being nominated from East for the prestigious Max event in Delhi.

He would also feature in the pages of an international fashion magazine, Director of Fface Neil Roy told PTI.

"Even the other 11 finalists of Fface model hunt, the first of its kind in the city to give a platform to aspiring models from this region, will be getting prime assignments groomed by our panel including directors and fashion designers," he said.

Popular director Raj Chakroborty, having delivered a string of hits including Proloy and Kanamachhi in recent times, said, "All those having made the cut are talented and have the spark."

Asked one reason why, Kolkata girls fizzle out in national shows, Raj said, "This could be attributed to lack of patientce."

Grit, hard work and oodles of patience are needed. Nothing can be achieved overnight," Raj, having just completed shoot of Kathmundu, said.

"I could see how they evolved in one month. Our youth can also do it the way like others. But the young generation, the aspiring models, should also be conversant about current affairs and have good general knowledge," ace fashion designer Sarbari Dutta said.
